The running of the club is overseen by a small committee all of whom are regular club swimmers. There are a number of club officials who are elected by members at the Annual General Meeting. These officials are - the chairperson, the secretary, the treasurer, the welfare lead and the committee secretary.
The club has a constitution which is approved by Swim England and is registered with the Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation ( CIO ) . The CIO arrangement ensures that all full club members are involved in important decisions about the club and that the members of the committee are trustees of the club.
If you choose to join, we offer a simple monthly subscription arrangement to all full members. This is payable over a twelve month period. Your monthly subscription allows you to attend all the available coached training sessions that month AND includes your annual payment to Swim England in the “club train” category.
Darwen Masters takes the welfare of club members seriously and has a Lead for Welfare and Safeguarding who ensures that the club works in line with the policies and procedures for adult safeguarding in relation to swimming as identified by Swim England.
The club has a Code of Conduct which is included in the Members Handbook. All new members are asked to ensure that they are familiar with this code.
